When my daughter was born, I realized it would be a few years until she was piloting the JAM or RIP herself so it was time to look for a bigger boat we could paddle together. The pirogue shape made it ideal to add a clear panel in the bottom to view the bottom below to keep the passenger happy.
There are a lot of 16 footers out there but I wanted a more compact size for portability. The close to plumb bow and stern maximize the waterline length for maximum speed. The boat paddles well and has a good combination of tracking and turning. The width and flare of the mid section make the boat very stable. 
The boat features the trademark asymmetrical bow and stern decks and a "wavy" skeg. Further features include a cup holder and airtight bow and stern compartment for safety and to stash "stuff".
